I have two AVI's one long one & one very short one. I am trying to get the short one's framerate to match the long one. But Mediainfo, Virtualdub, even Boilsoft Video Joiner says everything matches & I have tried using AVIDEMUX, Virtual Dub, Virtual Dub MOD to change the framerate of the short one but it does not seem to be updating that it changed & I still get the same error when I try to merge. What is wrong here ?

The files must have the same frame rate AND...

    --- same frame dimensions

    --- same video codec

    --- same audio codec

Regarding the change of frame rate, there exists a command-line tool called tc2cfr.exe, written by a guy named tritical.

If VirtualDub gives an error message that lists the framerates with two different hex value ratios (which in decimal give the same result), load each file one at a time in VirtualDub and 'Convert to fps' and insert a value like 25, then save each file with Direct stream copy.
Try and join again and convert back to the original framerate.
