I have an MKV that plays fine under VLC (and also Movist) on Mac. However, when I remux it to .m2ts to view on my PS3, the audio is out of sync. I've done this hundreds of times on other files without issue. Can anyone explain what the problem might be with the file, and how it can be remedied? Someone suggested elsewhere that the audio and video tracks might be at different framerates.

    How do you remux? tsmuxer?

Maybe try change the audio, like convert dts to ac3 and see if it makes any difference.

Yes, I use TSMuxer to remux. I've actually already tried converting from DTS to AC3 and remuxing with no difference in result. Any other ideas?

do they have a mac compatible mkv2vob version? That might be a way to go.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  5. Does the source MKV have an audio delay? Did you set the audio delay in TsMuxer?

Is the audio out of sync by the same margin throughout, or does it get progressively worse? It could just be a problem with the MKV itself - I've had a few instances where the video and audio headers were screwed up, and any attempts to either convert or remux the MKV resulted in out-of-sync audio.

Can you post a MediaInfo log of the MKV? Would probably be more useful that pure speculation

I recently had the exact same problem when attempting to convert an MKV file to a PS3 format. Tried various conversions some of which mentioned above however nothing worked until... While playing the file in VLC player I looked at the video frame rate (Tools > Codec Information) and noticed it was 25 FPS. All along tsMuxer for some reason was converting at 24FPS. So I changed FPS field in tsMuxer to 25, re-converted, and the audio was synced for the whole video.

Let me know if this works for you.
