I'm converting some YUV2 videos I've captured in VirtualDub from my tuner card into XviDs, but I'm apparently not deinterlacing correctly, because I'm getting a weird ghosting effect.
Does anyone know what settings in VirtualDub I should use to deinterlace these videos properly into 60 FPs, or 59.94 FPS, or whatever?

What type of tuner card, unless this is hd capture the framerate will be 29.97, not 60.

If the captured video was shot interlace 29.97 (aka 60i) then it could be bob deinterlaced to 59.94p similar to DV format. But if the source was telecined film (typical for tv series and movies) then it should be inverse telecined (IVTC) to 23.976p before encoding to xvid.
In both cases, an alternate method is to leave it interlaced and encode to MPeg2 or h.264 interlace, then let the player deal with deinterlace or IVTC. This works particularly well for digital broadcast source.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

As a quick test try the Bob Doubler filter in VirtualDub. If you still have ghosting there are two possible problems:
1) Your source already has ghosting
2) Your source is interlaced YV12. VirtualDub doesn't handle interlaced YV12 properly. The colors of the two fields get blurred together.
Post a short sample (Video -> Direct Stream Copy mode in VirtualDub) and we can tell you what the problem is. -
VirtualDub says that it's capturing as YUY2, or that's what it says when I open the compression menu. I'll get a clip up in a second.
