Lets say you created an mp4 that you desire to cut just the 1st few seconds off for free and you understand that with the present owned compression technology its almost impossible to do w/o re compressing the original video which can take up ones valuable time [in 19 months it'll be possible to do it, till then...try this]. Add to that the video has a blotchy first few seconds that you don't want in a family presentation. [if professional presentation then pay for a better compressor, and wait for financial returns in 2-3 yrs]

1] demux the VID & AUD**[see aud2] in YAMB.

2] AUD2; get the audio off the compressing software, by saving the audio. In AVIDEMUX first select the audio type from the interface left panel via the audio drop down menu i.e., ac3. AAC, ...etc[ NOT copy]. Now via AVIDEMUXs top tool bar click AUDIO>SAVE [ADD EXTENSION YOU SELECTED TO OUTPUT]

REMEMBER BEFORE YOU RE-COMPRESS TO CUT OUT THAT 1 SECOND or so cut out EQUVILANT IN THE AUDIO and upload tests vids first as some audio codecs that seem ok in your compu'r might create video glitches on the posted videos.

Now the use of unregistered 5STAR video splitter, remember outputs ~ only 50% of video;
Get the real duration time/length of the video Or audio, to do so drop video / audio it in MEDIAINFO [http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en], now you know the real duration. The reason you get the duration is to manually enter that as the end cut off point [change of course if one desires to also shorten the end].

Now MANUALLY enter the starting point at lets say 1 or 2 seconds.

If you used AVIDEMUX [always get latest version, though my fav AOTUW [AsOfThisUloadWas] v2.53], for the mp4 compressor in 5STAR, use "mp4 - mpeg4video" in 5star's codec detail selector not "mp4 - mpeg4AVC Video Format". Try the 2 highest settings AOTUW 1500 and 2500 in 5STAR. i know it reads as too high but try it, BE PATIENT FOR IT TO START AND COMPLETE [read below on a 3sec wait]. NOTICE OTHER SETTINGS LIKE ORIGINAL SIZE, AUDIO 56K - MIGHT BE BEST AS TO SMALL YET NOT TOO "NYC SUBWAY QUALITY". KEEP "BIT ALGO" AT TRUE IN MOST CASES.

OH, 2 BTWs when one clicks SPLIT in 5STAR wait around 3 seconds after the registration shows up as 5STAR wants you to read the pop up, if you like pay for it. If you click "later" on the pop up too soon, it'll read "already done". 5STAR interface commands are very rough, why best to enter manually start & end points and use right click to close its pop ups or in the upper bar or left of 5STAR to minimize or exit.
