Flaskmpeg; doesnt seem to work...i clic start encode, nothin

heres the deal, ive made several vcds from dvds with no problems, from avi(divx)files with no problem, but lately ive been finding it difficult to get the dang subtitles off the vobs! i've tried DVDx and the end result is horrible! (btw, does DVDx only work straight from a DVD disc? cuz i cant seem to import any vob files)
and for some reason it doesnt even do a 1/4 of the dvd (im currently tring to encode neon genesis evangelion to vcd).
but heres the problem im having with Flaskmpeg...the program installed fine, i can open the vob files needed, but when i hit "start encode" some screen flashes up and dissapears on me, then nothing happens! no encoding takes place! when i look at the avi its 0bytes! someone help me out here i cant get the stupid program to work!

come on someone help me! cuz im totally stuck! i cant seem to figure out how to make subs on my vcds! the damn prog wont work! i clik "start encoding" but $hit aint a darn thing happen! i've got all this anime dvds in my collection that id like to encode to vcd so i can sell some of the dvds! and no i dont want to make the vcds with english instead of japanese! no dubbed stuff for me!
