Best Solid Converter for .MOV to MP4

What is a good converter for converting .MOV files to MP4? Are there any free ones anyone can recommend that provide good quality conversion?

It's not a matter of quality. It depends on you needs. MPEG StramClip could be an option... few click and you get your mp4. If you were looking for something which can go deepeer in the encoding option try Handbrake or StaxRip (this last is only for Windows).
They are all free/open source...

Ok, will these run on a Mac too or only windows?

Handbrake is cross-platform (Windows, OS X, Linux). Are you looking specifically for a converter that will run on a Mac?

Yes, specifically for the Mac.

Try Handbrake, then. ffmpegx would probably be second on the list. (I don't really do video converting on my Mac, though, so I don't entirely know all of the converters or everything they support.)

As elmuz mentioned, there's also MPEG Streamclip - though for reading MPEG2-format video, if your input video has any, you'll need the Quicktime MPEG-2 decoder component.
