  1. Hello. I have and AverMdeia CO27 PCIe capture card and was hoping to capture my game play but I've had no luck. I tired using and HDMI splitter and a Componant Splitter but the PS3 seems to recognize both and the screen goes blank when ever I tried to use the splitter. I have vurtual dub ready but so far I can't split the picture for capturing and play. Thou I may have to bit the bullet and just capture and play on my computer screen. I've seen many post here but so far nothing acutally works for me. Am I wishing for something that is impossible?

Running Windows 7 Pro SP1, 8 gig RAM, 1.5 TB HDD, AMD x6 Phenom, ASUS motherboard, with ASUS Graphics card ATI Radon HD 5670

  2. Connecting directily to my computer does work, just makes it hardier to play thou on the smaller screen. First capture attempt yielded boring video.

I don't think any of the existing encoding/conversion software has a boredom filter.

The PS3 uses HDCP over HDMI. (There is supposed to be a way to defeat HDCP when recording games, but I don't know the particulars.) However, your capture device should work fine using component video. What kind of splitter are you using for component? A better or powered splitter may be needed.

The author of this post: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/333057-A-V-sync-problem-when-remuxing-%28AverMedia-...ull=1#post2066 probably knows more about this device than anyone else here. PM him and ask him to take a look at your thread.

First make sure your PS3 isn't set to display 1080p. The AVerMedia AVerTV HD DVR only records video up to 1080i, but 720p is likely a better setting to use for recording fast action than than 1080i.

If you can capture with the AVerTV HD DVR using just the PS3's component video cables, and no splitter, then either the splitter or the component A/V cable you used is the problem. Test both splitter outputs and the component cable you used for your AVerTV HD DVR with your TV to see if both sets of ports and the cable provide a good signal for the TV.

Lol, I bought the same splitter year ago in Ebay too...Never work for me on PS3.

    It´s work in PS2 (480p) WII(480p) and old DVD (480i).

I recommend you buy powered splitter and good Component cables. Here at home it works perfectly with what I said above.

    Any question, reply.

This is one example of a powered component splitter/distribution amplfier. I don't have one of their component distribution amps, but CE Labs makes a pretty good RF distribution amp, which I do have. They seem to be a company that makes good products.

There are less expensive powered component splitters with fewer outlets, but some don't provide audio.

You may not like the pricetags, but shop around and you will see that they are reasonable for this type of product. The cheaper similar-looking items I found on ebay are multiple-in-one-out combiners/switches, not amplified spltters.

HDMI-wise, is your splitter passive? That won't work with HDCP. You need a chip doing key negotiation to both devices. I use one that looks like this:
