Problem Running Game (Morrowind GOTY) On Laptop

Ok, so I installed this game (along with the expansions) without any problems. However, the problem comes when I start it up. It'll load everything up normally, and then freeze up. I can exit via ctrl+alt+delete, but I checked the task manager one time during the freeze up, and noticed that my CPU usage spikes up to between 90-100%, and the memory usage reaches over 100,000 k. Obviously, something is seriously wrong given my specs (see below):

Microsoft Windows XP Pro
Intel T2500 (2.0 GHz)
2 GB RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 (using Omega 3.8.421 drivers)
100 GB Hard Drive

Any ideas? I've tried playing it with the CD (didn't work), and I tried ripping it to my laptop as an ISO and using Daemon Tools (also didn't work).

Uninstall the game. Ensure you have all of the latest drivers installed (video, audio, etc.). Then install the game again and test (before installing all of the expansion packs).

You may also want to test/reinstall DirectX.
