I just had to delete about 24 emails all with the same subject header since joining the forum.

Never had that before when I've signed up for things.

It's not spam. It's a forum thread subscription.

There are those who consider any unwanted/excessive mail in their inboxes to be spam, you know. (Now, back to deleting tons of that real spam from my inbox... )
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

And then there are those who don't take the time when joining something or purchasing items to read or become informed before making their choice. Then they get bent out of shape/jump to conclusions when they get something they didn't want.Caveat emptor : All easily solved by taking time when one makes choices.

    Could be just coincidence.
I use a unique email for every forum, so I know exactly where someone got my email from.

I've never, in several years, got any spam to the address I use here.

I get notifications for things I've subscribed to, but that's optional.
