Trouble concatenating mp4 files in Yamb 2.0.0.8

The files seem to combine fine.

But, in playback on VLC- 2 videos open and play at once. (1 is normal; the other is named "hardware YUV directX output")

    -- in Quicktime-
Only 1 video plays back, with the audio from Vid 2

    - i did everything properly (as far as i can tell), and downloaded Mp4 box along w/ Yamb.

  2. Try YAMB 2.1.0.0 beta 1 released very recently:

    You might also try avidemux

What formats are contained within the .mp4? use mediainfo if you don't know. Sometimes extra "stuff" like subs etc... can impair the joining.

Nothing "extra" in videos - strange, I couldn't join ANYthing properly with Yamb 2.0.0.8 or the beta 2.1.00

    - avidemux works, but the resulting mp4 is HUGE (guess i can compress it).
Also -- on Playback, at each spot with the mp4s are joined, there's a Loud puff of audio static.

Anyway to get rid of that?
(Thanks for your help, by the way.)

  4. In avidemux did you use the correct settings (video & audio set to copy, format set to .mp4) and the latest SVN?
    http://avidemux.razorbyte.com.au/

You could try muxing it into .mkv container, and join it (with mkvmergeGUI), export the streams and then use YAMB to switch containers

Again, what formats are contained within the .mp4? (e.g. AVC video, AAC audio, etc...)?

You might have a problem with your .mp4 "ends" where there is a gap or audio offset

    thanks for your help.
avidemux solves all, once i get the settings correct.
(it also alerted me to different frame dimensions of the mp4s- i can't believe i missed something so obvious.)

thanks for the tip on mediainfo. i'd been using gspot for information, which isn't as thorough.

YES! This did it for me! Here's my process to get my merged mp4s from streaming websites (youtube, etc) now:

Download media with Replay Media Catcher (likely flv format)
    Extract to h.264/aac with FLVExtract
Mux/combine streams to mp4 with Yamb

(these steps were always simple enough, but your tips helped add the next few steps!)

Merge/mux all desired mp4s together with MKVToolNix
    Re-extract stream to h.264/aac with MKVExtract GUI2
Re-mux/combine streams to mp4 with Yamb

I now have one merged mp4 with seamless audio and video, and all without re-encoding a single frame throughout the entire process! Thanks a bunch!

Nothing wrong with commenting that a solution works. Besides, my method is slightly different than the final poster a few years back and doesn't involve avidemux...

Yes. MKVMerge is actually quite useful, and Yamb can actually open its .mkv output and mux into .mp4 directly. Neat.
