I got a Pioneer A03 DVD recorder this week. Found that the bundled software PrimoDVD stinks for making data DVDs, so I got Nero 5.5.78. It was nice to see the framilar interface. I built a data DVD with it. But it doesn't seem to support multisession burning.

Does anyone know if you can do multisession burning on a DVD-R?
Does the Pioneer A03 support multisession DVD-R?
    Does Nero support multisession DVD-R?

It seems tedious to have to save up enough data before performing a single burn session to a DVD-R data disk. I've been spoilled to CD-R multisession for data backups.

    Any help would be appreciated!

  2. AFAIK, DVD-R does not currently support multi-session, though I would be happy to be corrected on this

  3. The only app I know that supports multi-session DVD-R writing is Roxio DirectCD. Please note that any DVD-ROM drive that you are planning on reading this with will have to support Multi-session/Border reading. Pioneer's DVD ROMs the 116 and 117 will read multi-session DVD-R.
Of course I do not like to have DirectCd loaded onto my system because it is a resource hog and it can cause compatibility problems with other
    S/W.

After digging through Pioneers support pages (hours). I found that the player does support MultiBorder, but they didn't know of any software out there at the time which would write this.

I have Roxio EZ Creator Plat. but read there are problems having Nero and DirectCD loaded at the same time.

    Perhaps I'll try DirectCD.
