Hello!
I have recently aquired a rather nice looking Marantz Videorecorder (MV762)
Unfortunately it came with its child lock activated.
Anyone know of a way to reset/bypass this feature?
Otherwise it will make quite a flashy door stop.
Thanks in advance,
Phil
ps- i have tried '0000'

Is there a reset to factory defaults option in the setup menu? If that didn't do it you should sign up with Marantz owner's circle and ask them.

Thanks nic2k4, I've just signed up and popped a question to them. Unfortunately i can't access the menu as it always just puts up the message 'Locked' Strange thing is there's nothing in the manual about what would happen if you were to forget the number. In the meantime I'll keep tapping in codes---9952 left... Phil

"I have recently aquired a rather nice looking Marantz Videorecorder"
Have you asked the person that you acquired this videorecorder from? -
Hi treetops, Only just seen this. Bought the VHS on ebay and have not been able to get an answer from the seller. My next option (he says confidently) is to open it up. I've tried a few tricks, like holding buttons down etc. Any ideas, as my techy knowledge will poss lead to me killing the poor thing... Thanks
