audio in virtual dub

could some one please help me with getting audio from virtual dub i can capture the video and hear the audio while it is caputuring but when i go to play the avi file i have no audio i also see that the audio is being record in the display i have an ati aiw card and when i try this in mmc it works fine all the way i some it must be something minor but i have been trying for three weeks now i also have the codec huffyuv install but i don't know if it is right driver o- microsoft wdm image capture keeps showing up for my driver using
windows 98se

256 2100ddr ram
ati all in wonder video card
pioneer dvd rom
sony cd-rw
ibm 60g 7200rpm hd
onboard sound
soyo p4b mb
any help would greatly be appreciated i am losing sleep and personal life over this lol.

i seem to have fixed my problem today by checking my sound controls and making sure the line in is checked in record
