    Possible to just bypass the DV tape in our older SONY TRV 20 -- and go direct Firewire to a Laptop .......capture with maybe Ulead or Pinnacle ??

    Just so you don't feel ignored, I have a TRV20 but only have allowed the default caputure to PC via firewire.

    I hook the TRV20 to my laptop firewire to firewire and turn on my video camera and the computer detects this and offers to import the video.
