I'm editing some Mini DV video from a camcorder in Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 10. Could use some advise on what levels I set the Audio Mixer at. What should it peak at? If video is general dialog with people speaking, should the peak be based on the average throughout the video or the absolute max reached at only a few points?

If this was a dub from a pro produced TV program or movie, you would set to the loudest clip. If this is video you shot, you need to use audio monitors or headphones to set levels manually.
