If you are trying to make an ACTUAL dvd than you can't get "best video quality". It will be standard definition video at 720x480/576.

As for original audio you can't do that either if you are making an actual dvd also - max of 448kpbs for dolby digital - you can do 1510kpbs for dts but you need a dts encoder to downconvert to regular dts from hd dts and dts encoders are not cheap.

You can still get good quality with sd video and sd digital audio but you will not keep hd nor top quality.

    -------------------

Do you have a bluray player that can play avchd? if so you can convert to that format with multiavchd. But it will only be playable in bluray players or computers that can play avchd.

    -------------------

fyi you can use the freeware program avstodvd to create a dvd from a bluray. - edit multiavchd can also make a sd dvd from bluray your choice of which to use - both freeware and both can do user created menus.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

  3. Thnks for reply, yoda313 !

For the record: I'm trying to get best quality "possible" in a DVD-9 NTSC 29,97fps format.

As I said, I've got the two original streams stripped from commercial blu-ray and waht I want is to encode video and then audio and then mux the result to burn a DVD-9.

What I need to know is: which apps and what settings are better to encode video and audio and then multiplex. May be free or not free apps.

    Once again, thanks !
