I have some MKV files. I want to convert them to AVCHD format. I do not want to burn on a DVD-R, DVD+R, or BR.

I read on the Samsung site that it does play AVCHD files.

How do I get to play from USB flash or USB external hard drive?

I can not seem to get it to play.

Does the file structure need to be in certain form?

I did that but it does not play it? Do you need to go in a special menu?

I have no idea about your particular BluRay player, but my Momitsu BluRay player cannot play anything that multiavchd creates. The only thing that works for me is to use tsmuxer to create AVCHD discs.

Also, you need to be sure that AVCHD is actually supported for playback via USB devices. It may only be supported on discs. The manual will tell you.

There is nothing in the manual.

What do you tick in TSMUXER to creat AVCHD discs?

There's an option in tsmuxer to produce AVCHD discs. If click on the word "tsmuxer" in my original post and look at the picture (click on that to enlarge it) you should see it clearly as one of the 5 output choices.

If your manual says nothing about playing AVCDH from USB then I would not assume it works. Some players use the USB port only for firmware updates.
