I have a DVD which I am trying to rip which is not protected. Problem is the subtitle plays correctly when played as a DVD however when I rip the subs with subrip or use any app like autogk etc it rips it with subs playing to early. If this issue was consistent I would have adjusted this with subtitle workshop. The problem is that its out of sync throughout the video and varies wildly how by much. Can some tell me how to rip those subs with correct timestamps?
thanks

I have a suggestion, although I'm not positive it'll work. I've had success in the past, though, getting the right timestamps this way. Open the IFO for the video, with the DVD either in the DVD-ROM or on the hard drive, in PGCDemux. Check only the 'Demux all substreams' box and save them. That'll give you the subs in SUP format. Open them in SubtitleCreator and immediately 'Save VobSub'. Then you'll have VobSubs (IDX/SUB). Use them with the CTRL-F8 trick in AutoGK other in other conversion programs. Before doing that you might want to open the IDX for your new one in Notepad and compare with the ones you made earlier to confirm (or disprove) that the timestamps are different than before. Or check the timings while still in SubtitleCreator.
