I am just coming to the end of my NTSC vhs tapes to DVD project.

I wanted to share with you that I needed to use a different vcr from my usual panny 1980 and Sharp VC-810 VCR's as this tape would not track well on those(SLP), I connected up my Panny pv-9453K to my usual dvd recorder JVC M100 and boy oh boy was the picture quality very good, using RCA yellow phono connector. Now of course the JVC dvd recorder has excellent filters.

So I just wanted to share my observations as follows:-

I have not found the JVC VCR's produce the best image, and indeed if your recordings are from the best analogue or digital TV signal it seems that the jvc vcr filters and the jvc dvd recorder actually over enhance.

I have tried and tried with computer capture, I cannot make it work as well as a dvd recorder.

My bulk has been in PAL and have found that to be the simpler to deal with, using jvc 8965 and again a jvc m100 dvd recorder, but most of my pal tapes were in SP, it is only when I can to canada did I blow a brain fuse and start using lp/slp.
