  1. Hi,

In windows XP you can burn cdr or cdrw with no added software. I was able to do this 1 month ago.

Since then, I have download lots of codecs, video tools and now some XP CD-R / RW feature seems to malfunction.

For example, when I insert a CD-RW I dont get any option to erase it anymore...

Also, I cant burn any cd`s anymore, the wizard tells me there is no CD in drive and there is one, I can even read its content.

Drive is working cause I can still burn CD`s with VCDeasy and Ulead DvD movie factory....

    Hi

I believe that XP has a version of Roxio's easy CD creator built in, try an update from there're site.

  3. I got feed up with this - coulnd find any cause

I did a XP systeme restore to february 15th and it works now. That also means I need to reinstall lots of software.

I am rebooting and checking the XP CD-RW utilities after every install. I will let you know if I find the cause of this problem

    Hi

    Ouch..

Its a pain doing that, if you have two hard drives you might like to consider using Norton Ghost, it makes a facsimile of your drive and when used to restore, you have things back like they were, but with all your favorite programs installed.
