    Hello Everyone

I have just signed up to seek some help regarding video conversion.

I have been downloading movies and TV show episodes like The Sopranos and the Entourage and each file is in AVI format about 500MB but with awesome video quality.

Now I installed many different converters such as AutoGK, 1-Click Video Converter, DVDFab, Ahead Video Converter and many others and everytime I try to convert DVD to AVI (Xvid) when the conversion is completed I get the right file size I want but the video quality is crap and fuzzy or noisy...

How do people who put those videos onlne for download, convert them?

I tried 720x404 ratio, 29 fps, Xvid compressor etc...and still get teh same crap quality video...

Am I missing something? it's really making me go nuts arrrrrgggghhhhh!!!

How do I convert a 1 hour DVD video/movie to a 500MB size with DVD quality picture just like all those torrent videos ?????

Really appreciate your kind help and support. My head is exploding!

    Thanks!

  2. The ones you're downloading most likely aren't using 720x404 resolution, but 624x352 or similar. Since most are shot on film, the resolution wouldn't be 29.97fps but 23.976fps. And maybe they know what they're doing and aren't using a 1-click app to do it. And unless you're doing the same episode of the same series, it's apples to oranges you're comparing.

Here's a suggestion since you already have AutoGK installed. Open the IFO or VOBs for an episode in it, set it up for a 1-pass target quality encode at the default 75%, and then go into the Advanced Settings and set a fixed width of 624. Since you're running only one pass it won't take long relative to your previous 2 pass encodes.

If you have any of the logs for any AutoGK projects that didn't produce a good looking video, you might include one. And same thing if you take my suggestion but aren't pleased with the results.
