I've been converting avi's and such to dvd for years now and have a nice collection of tools to do what I need. Just to get past the point that I might be a total noob. Anyways, my ac3 stream has a long silence at the beginning. There is some sound at the very beginning but then there's about a 1- 1 1/2 min. or so silent section before there's any sound. This is as it should be. My problem is that when I author with this stream about 50 seconds of that silence disappears and my audio is way way way way out of sync. The audio track plays correctly before authoring but after trying with DVD-Lab pro and TMPGEnc I get the same result with both. At first I thought it was an issue with me transcoding the mp3 of the avi but I've converted that with 3 different methods as well. something is happening to the audio track during authoring and it seems related to the long silence. I just have no idea what. And if it was some type of bug with one program, why is the exact same thing happening with two different authoring programs?
