Good news for those (like me), if you want to get the most out of your video hobby!
I'll put this info and more in the capture-card section later on, but wanted to share for now with you all..

Just installed a new capture-card, the Pinnacle Studio Deluxe. This one has a DV and S-video and composite in and out, using a break-outbox like the DV500. But, MUCH CHEAPER (about €400), and just fine if you like use 2 worlds of video devices :D !

And... since many of us have a videorecorder near our PC, you can use the video-out and watch & capture very good material from it's TV-tuner as well  . Full size and sort of DV-AVI compressed.
And yes, you'll need some GB's free for a whole movie, we talk about 20~25GB for say 2 hours.

After capturing this you can use Tmpgenc or any other favorite software and up with good quality mpeg1 or mpeg2 stuff.
MUCH better comparing all TV-cards I tested!! (thanx to my dealer and his patient over and over again :P )

So if you want to do it all, capture DV, analog (cam/(S)VHS,TV), this card is worth testing!

Some minor points of the software (all in the box!):
- Video 7 software helps you with almost all functions. The MPG2 rendering option however is average, not as good as TPMGEnc...
:-?
- Studio Express is great for making (S)VCD's or DVD's, even with menus, chapters en nice graphical options. But you have to use it's build in (average) encoder... :o
- Existing VCRsoftware and MS encoder didn't recognize this cards input.

But for most of this a workaround is possible.
