    Hey, I'm new and I have a question about DVD authoring.

    Does anyone know of an authoring program that supports .ass subs? I figure there isn't one but I thought I would as just to be sure.

    Sorry, wrong answer; mis-read your question. Just looking at free programs, DVDFlick, DVDAuthor with the GUI of your choice and DVDforger.

    In Aegisub, select Save File As, writing .ssa in the box where it says .ass. (Aegisub doesn't appear to offer the .ssa file extention as a choice, but if you write it in, it will work.) Thereafter, drop it into GUI for DVDAuthor.
