Hi all
I am looking for a video capture solution - for the purpose of capturing PAL format video from VHS and from 8mm camcorders, and want to archive this material on VCDs/SVCDs.
Being in the USofA, most solutions available here seem to default to the NTSC format. ATI tech support told me this morning that I am out of luck -"you need to order a card from Europe" ...!!
I know there are cards out there that do NTSC and PAL both ... Just want to get opinions first before I plonk down the cash. I guess hardware compression is almost necessary, but I will consider cheaper solutions too (dont have a lot of $$ to spare!)
Would ppl who have captured analog PAL format video (at least 352x288, 25fps) with US bought equipment pls share your experiences ?
My rig is a PIII-450MHz with 384MB RAM (I know, not the greatest!)
cheers
Dee
