  1. I've tried Avisynth's DirectShowSource("video.flv"), it freezes VirtualDub.
I've tried checking that ffdshow decoder uses libavcodec for FLV1, THeora, VP3/5/6/6F.
I've tried Avidemux and Sony Vegas, won't open.
    I've tried registering FLVSplitter.ax, still won't open.

I can play the file in MPC so the file is not totally corrupt, but maybe it wasn't encoded properly. I tried another flv and that one will open with AVISynth.

You could also try FLV extract, by moitah.
    http://moitah.net/

Drag the FLV onto the window and it will extract the audio (usually mp3) and the video (avi).
Assuming you have FLV enabled in FFDShow, the avi will open in Virtualdub.
