  1. Hey everyone!

    I'm sorry if i posted this in the wrong section, if so, please move the topic to the right section.

    I recently downloaded some .avi files i wanted to edit in Sony Vegas. When i imported them i could only see the audio, while the other .avi files work fine in Sony Vegas.
    I downloaded Gspot to check out which Codec it has and it has Wmv3 codec which is installed on my computer.
    Still it doesnt work in Sony Vegas. I can play the files in my media players though. Anything i'm doing wrong here?

    welcome to the forum!

    could be a lot of things, including just badly made videos. you could try converting to a different type video before importing. maybe avidemux can import and save it out correctly.

  3. Does Vegas use VFW or DirectShow decoders? Try installing ffdshow and enabling it's WMV3 VFW decoder.
