    Hi

I was getting the "Unsupported codec (id=74)" when trying to convert a WMV file to FLV. A bit of investigation including reading other posts on this forum I see that I have a WMV3 file and this is not supported by ffmpegX.

Further searching on Google and looking at the ffmpeg (the underlying Unix app without the X) site <http://ffmpeg.mplayerhq.hu/> seems to suggest that ffmpeg itself has been able to handle WMV3 files since March 2007.

I was hoping that the latest release of ffmpegX (a couple of days ago) would incorporate these updates but unfortunately I still get the same error message

Is there any plan to update the underlying app?

    Paul

I'm not an expert on WMV files but have you tried installing the Flip4Mac components? They're a free download.

  3. Yes, just install flip4mac free codecs and use QT decoder in ffmpegX.
