Problem - "Wrong frame length"

Hi there,

I'm trying to write a .avi file to DVD with AVStoDVD, but each of the 3 times that i tried to write it, i get the same dos window, after HCenc window is closed.

I now observed that there is a message on the bottom that says "Checking frame: ***** " and the number goes upwards. Should i leave it until it's finished with all the frames?? (!)

Hi IllusionOfLife,

After AC3 audio track demuxing step, AVStoDVD launches AC3Fix.exe which is a little app that fixes errors found in badly encoded AC3 tracks. In your case (where did you get that avi?) the AC3 track has a lot of errors. Let AC3Fix ends its work and then play the resulting DVD. If it sounds ok, AC3Fix is successful, otherwise your avi was too much compromised when it was (badly) created.

Try fixing the audio in the AVI.

One way:
open in Avidemux. If it wants to index the file, let it.
Leave "video" as "copy"; "audio" choose a format like MP3 CBR at a high bit rate, say 256 kb.
Then file/save to a new AVI file.

Play it back to see if it's in sync.

My question about the origin of your avi has the purpose to try to understand where it comes, how it was created and why it has errors.
