Hi, I've been using fraps (3.2.2.) for the longest time and am having a problem with my video and audio matching up. The longer I record the bigger the delay between audio & video on all my videos. The Audio falls behind and the Audio sounds Great! This leads me to think that the video isn't recording at a solid fps and Thus getting stretched out over the recording duration. I have tried different recoding resolutions with High and Low game setting. (tried fraps half-Rez too) My "Don't sync audio" button is not checked. This issue happens in every game I play including recording the desktop.
The Solution in this post didn't work for me --> https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/298002-Fraps-video-and-audio-out-of-sync
Here's an example video; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHFDvClY7-k
Also if I go though some bs it is fixable. But That step takes TIME.--> I just want the darn thing to work...
I use this program (sometimes) to edit my vids. as far as fixing audio...
I have to delay audio and increase FPS. To find those Numbers is a Long process for long videos. Just finished this one... took about a-half and hour+sum to get it right.
Most people just need to either dalay audio/video OR Mess with frame rate. I have to do both..
Also.. ***Something i did just notice that was kinda odd; My videos tend to have a bit of delay where the video is frozen and the audio comes through ok... Normally happens on any clip after the first file is made. In cases like this the audio starts un-synced.
Before you ask.. check this out
"Have you tried switching to your realtek for default playback device instead of the USB headset?"
- A:Not much change.. but a little change (actually I can't be SURE)
"Have you tried encoding your footage to something else more lightweight? Some media players have some serious issues with fraps encoded video."
- A:VLC is my Media player of Choice for most things. I tried re-encoding to a smaller file (using Divx) and I'm still getting the same problem. I also tried different players as well as other computers. (No change)
Also
Just installed a new HDD and before I filled it up I Devoted all writing to that drive. (Fraps was installed on that extra HDD) No Change...
==================================================
If I haven't scared you off by now then I NEED your help. THIS HAS BEEN KILLING ME FOR THE LONGEST TIME. (yes I'm shouting =P
THANK YOU! for your time in reviewing my problem and look foreword to your posts.

What is the frame rate on the source video? I suspect you might be getting a variable frame rate or something like that which may be adding to the complexity? MediaInfo might give you the details to sort out the problem at the source and perhaps change your capture routine to make life a bit easier? I've noticed (especially when video is being transcoded to YouTube) that oddball frame rates seems to be a trigger, at least when the video is rendered from some programs/encoders. Please forgive me if I misunderstood the question.

Don't know if this will help, but it's part of the reason I found this thread, since I've been trying to sort out the many audio sync issues that happen, especially where YouTube is involved. This thread is the most recent instance of testing on my part, though it doesn't reach much of a conclusion, except to demonstrate how sync can be affected by frame rate (seemingly, at least). Read the thread and you'll know why I'm hedging my comments.

I have fraps set to record at 50fps.. I used the Divx codec at medium quality just so i could post the video asap. I had to encode it to post it on you tube... due note.. This is the way the video looks before encoding and after. The delay is present no-matter the fps.

@OckhamDeRazor Sorry about that.. wasn't clear enough. Yes this is happing before upload. The delay delay this this video is equal to (the same) as the raw video recorded by fraps. How do i check to see if i have a VBR or even what fraps Bit rate is. Is there a setting I can change in windows?

First of all:
have you posted your problem to any game-related sites ???
Secondly:
not a solution, but you could / should use FRAPS for recording only the video,
the audio being captured by an external sound recorder, or even by another computer.
P.S.: I think the forum named "Video Streaming" is not the appropriate one for this thread.
