I have this tv card and would like to know a little more about how it - or newer - tv cards function. The card has an svideo port, a coax port for cable and audio in and audio out. I think this card produces stereo sound. If I am recording off the tv card onto the hard drive can I get better sound than stereo? i.e. 2.1 or 5.1 etc? My mobo has a 6.1 sound card.

You can't get better sound than stereo unless your audio out is 5.1 and your sound card has 5.1 recording line-in jack that record in digital. I think, therefore i am a hamster.

It is old, it is analogue and it is stereo. Google found it. Read my blog here.

Thanks! I knew it was stereo but I have seen so many hacks for these things that I was hoping....
