    Huh....
I wonder if this is something new as i never saw it before ?

I used to use another program by them that allowed you to play any region dvd without having to change the region setting but it's been a long time since i have used it.
    It ran in the background.

I found it on their site but not much info.

I may have to try it on an older drive.

Does it work for dvd and blu-ray? And how about the dvd reader built in region coding?

The sole purpose is to reset the 5 change limitation for software Blu-ray players thereby giving you an infinite number of changes. Blu-ray region limitations are handled at the software level whereas DVD regions are at the drive level. This product is just for BD regions and it's not anything new since what it does has been around for some time now. ChiDragon released a program like this on Doom9 in 2009 with the most recent update being from May of 2010 with the source code included. Refer here for reference: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=149191. As the DVDFab Region Reset product description notes this new product is a complilation of "widely-known" hacks. It just happens to have a newer UI and with the DVDFab name slapped on it.
