Ok, when I look at a produced DVD, the properties tell me that the disc is 7.03GB. Basic question:
How do they get 7.03GB worth of data onto a 4.7GB disc? If it was compression, then the properties would should the compressed size, not the uncompressed size.
I have used Smartripper on this DVD, and come up with exactly the same size for all the files combined, (IFO, VOB, BUP, etc...) as the DVD disc, 7.03GB. (I used the backup routine, the file routine, and the movie routine, also the stream routine, so I have got this thing covered I think for what I need to do)
Now I know everyone says I don't need all the info that the DVD contains, like the submenus, languages, etc. But how do they get all that informatin on there if the disc is 4.7GB? My only assumption is that the disc can hold larger than 4.7GB.
The disc is still 120mm, same as a cd...so how do they do it? Anyone have a simple answer, or can answer how to create the data size of the DVD?
I realize this is the ripping forum, but this does relate directly to my rip, as I am unsure if I am doing something incorrectly.
