I am aware that you can do it in VirtualDub, however you can only add one file at a time. I have a lot of files to try and join and doing them one at a time would be nearly impossible. These are clips my son made making a lego movie using a cheap camera. So I am trying to join them up for him. Thanks for any help.

This is not true. If you name your files video 001, video 002, video 003 etc... and open the first file and then append the second file, it will automatically add all sequential files. These files have to have the same attributes though or Virtualdub will not join them.
Make sure that you have "autodetect additional segments by filename" checked or it will only add one file at a time. -
