I`ve been using BoilSoft Video Joiner and I`m still having this problem. I am trying to join 10 avi files of about 100MB each, XVid encoded 50FPS and the audio is Lame MP3 192kbps CBR. I`ve also tried Easy Video Joiner but it has a problem, starting from the 2nd joined video, I cannot hear any sound (this happens to any kind of avi file I try to join. I would like to know if there is any solution to my problem.

I can`t believe it, the problem is back now, just that it`s MUCH more worse!
I did the same thing, appended all the video files that I needed. I check the final video file and find out that after the half of the video the sound gets choppy! I`ve tried to open it, and append the rest with VirtualDub but it says:
"Cannot append segment '*path to file*': The audio streams have incompatible data formats. (Mismatch detected in opaque codec data at byte 20 of the format data)
I did not apply a different method than the one that I used before (for DVD ripping, splitting, etc.) and used the same quality rates! -
Erm, if you would look by four posts above you would see that you already suggested to me that, so that results naturally that I used it this time before trying VirtualDub...

in any case,
i'd take each section,
direct stream copy video, audio to full uncompress,
then
append,
direct stream copy video, compress audio
tripp"I'll give you five dollars if you let me throw a rock at you" -
You mean as in export the audio of the source files to wav, join them, and after that to add them to Section1.avi?
-
no i mean create section1new.avi with uncompressed audio,
an so on...
then append sectionnew.avi files, and when exporting recompress audio."I'll give you five dollars if you let me throw a rock at you" -
I must tell you that this section1.avi was done in AviDemux, not in VirtualDub. If you will read above you would see why. And section1.avi has that audio problem in it already, recompressing the audio won`t do any good.

Ok then, I will have no choice, just to repeat myself *sigh*
What I used last time, and it worked (on joining): AviDemux
What I used this time, and failed: AviDemux - problem: audio is choppy after the second half of the video
What I tried to use further: VirtualDub - failed - message after appending different avi segments: "Cannot append segment '*path to file*': The audio streams have incompatible data formats. (Mismatch detected in opaque codec data at byte 20 of the format data) <- and this was the reason of not using VirtualDub for appending avi segments
I cannot understand what you mean by all the "uncompressed". Maybe if you would tell me in which program I should do that and precisely how to do it.
Might be a stupid question, but what do you mean by "Step 0"? -

save avi.
try appending in avidemux as well.
you could also try to disable audio and mux video only,
demux each audio to full uncompressed .wav, and use an audio editor to work at it,
compress and mux.
they might not be appendable, in which case you have to join in avisynth reencode everything.
the audio might be buggered,
in which case good luck.
and when gunslinger said post info,
he meant a grab on at least 2 of the streams you plan to append,
to compare their properties.
tripp"I'll give you five dollars if you let me throw a rock at you" -
I`ve done that uncompressed audio method you suggested me to, but it still says: "Error Initializing audio stream decompression:
No installed audio codec could be found to decompress the compressed source audio." But I do have that specific codec (which is Lame MP3)
Here is some information about two of the videos that I`ve been trying to join:

Here it is: http://rapidshare.com/files/136339040/mp3s.zip.html (I prefer uploading to Rapidshare, sorry)
I was going over the splitted videos and I observed that some were at 128, some at 192, can this be one of the causes?
What process should I start in Avidemux? -
