I just purchased the ACerTV HD DVR on a machine running windows 7 64bit with the provided drivers and AverMedia Center CD.
I can hook up rca, s-video, component, and HDMI from from my various electronics and it works fine.
The problem I have is when taking the video feed from an 1920x1080p medical grade camera from a DVI connector and using a DVI -> HDMI converter I just get a black screen in the aver media center.
I can hook this to a TV with this configuration and using the provided DVI cable and it works fine.
Is this a possible sign of HDCP?
What else could be the problem?

I don't think so as it the camera shouldn't use any HDCP on the dvi output.
Have you connected anything else with dvi to hdmi converter and got it to work? -
Im gonna try that today. I did notice that the HDMI converter I have doesn't have the 4 pins around the horizontal "ground", any suspicions there?
I also tried using a straight through dvi to hdmi and it didn't work...
Any other Ideas would be appreciated -
Figured it out, the camera is 1080p and cannot be lowered
Is there any way to take a 1080p DVI signal and force it to lower so my capture card can accept it?
I looked around at some blackmagic cards and they still dont accept 1080p... Do they even make them? -
AVerTV HD DVR can capture HD video up to 1080i on both USB and PCIe model and far I know of there no low cost ver that support 1080P you have look at more of a Professional Grade Capture device
NOKYARD I do belive he ref to PCIe ver but if it is the USB model then your rigth.
