Suddenly DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter lock up when I load them. Their tasks won't terminate either, I have to reboot to clear the processes.... Windows 7 32bit
What is odd is that DVD Shrink used to always load with the ASPI-Adaptor NOT found message, but not it reports ASPI-Adaptor avaliable, hen says trying to unlock drive and never gets any further
If anyone knows how to safely disable the ASPI Adaptor I have a feeling that would probably get things working again.
Thanks in advance
Cheers

aspi is software and i don't think win7 includes or can use it. microsoft's own version called spti is used by win7.
shrink works on win7, but you have to set the .exe to run as administrator--

something installed an aspi driver (possibly Avid Media Composer, its about all I've installed recently), I just found that by removing wnaspi32.dll in the c:\windows \system32 folder and rebooting these programs work again. ForceASPI had also removed other file, I think it was aspi32.sys but can't remember exactly which one now.
Thanks for the reply
