    I am trying to convert an AVI to a VCD.
    I am using Virtual Dub 1.4.9
    I have DIVX 5.0 installed.
    When i open virtualdub and click file/open and select the AVI i get the following error.


    Virtual dub error

    Couldn't locate decompressor for Format "div 3"(Microsoft High-speed MPEG-4 V3[hack: divx low-motion])

    Virtual dub requires a video for windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video.
    Direct show codecs, such as those used by Windows media player, are not suitable.


    Can anyone help me?????

    have you tried install the old divx 3.12? I know that divx 5 should be backward compatible but maybe it don't work that good with virtualdub.
