    http://94.75.224.58/forums/index.php?showtopic=58685

For those who wanna convert their movie collection, must get a clean copy of DVDFab.

General Thumb Rules for DVD to avi ripping
    ---------------------------------------------------

English Movies with average length 120 min = rip size 700MB = average video bit rate = 700 (approx or higher)
Indian Hindi Movies with average length 165 min = rip size 1.0GB (or 1400MB = 2 CDs) = average video bit rate = 700 (approx or higher)

120 minutes into 700MB equals poor quality. Combine that with DVDFab's less than stellar resizing and encoding, and you are asking for crap.

    But each to their own.

Yeah, i saw this before you posted and was thinking maybe if people still used CDR's....

I always do my full 2 hour movie conversions @ 1.4gb's for Xvid, and that's for watching on my 15" laptop.

Unless i am going to watch one on my portable player with a 2" LCD screen, then it don't matter and i make them small.

  4. normally i luv 4 (1GB sized) good quality movies on one DVD-R and my DViX player offers selection as well.
i personally go for 1gb sized or higher than that.
but still there are people in this beautiful universe who like 700MB size for some valid reason.
