  1. I've found VOB2MPG to be a great tool because hard disk space is inexpensive and I'd rather rip my movies from DVD without re-encoding to save space. According to an old post about VOB2MPG, the program simply "joins up the various vobsets to produce mpgs for the different titles." (See https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/195064-VOB2MPG-Tool)

I was wondering if anyone knew of a similar tool to extract the video streams from Bluray .m2ts files to MPEG, without any re-encoding?

Yep, but you don't make any mpg. Make instead a single mkv or ts/m2ts file with the streams you want. Use MakeMKV to make a mkv or ToNMT, clown_bd or tsmuxer to make a ts or m2ts file.

  3. Thanks! MakeMKV looks perfect. Any chance MakeMKV can use an .MP4 container instead? Either way, it shouldn't be too difficult to de/remux to another container with some other software.
