I have a Panasonic DMRE500 DVD Recorder, and would like to use it to record programmes onto a DVD-RAM disk so I can pass them to a friend of mine who also has a Panasonic DVD recorder. I would like to use DVD-RAM disks as the only other option is DVD-R where the disk cannot be reused. The problem that I have is that I would like to do some editing on my PC first, so I can cut out ads. I can record the programme on my DVD recorder, and then transfer it to my PC using a DVD-RAM disk. I can then edit it, but what I have not been able to do is to write back to the DVD-RAM disk in a way that the DVD recorder understands. If I use normal DVD writer software, I can produce a disk which can be read by my PC but it can't be read by the DVD Recoder.
Does anyone know of a utility that does this? If my friend had a PC there would be lots of options, but he doesn't.

Are you erasing the DVD-RAM disc previous to rewriting? If this becomes problematic DVD-RW discs can be reused.

The machine doesn't take RW disks.

The problem is how to load from the PC to a RAM disk. I have tried both blank ones and ones that have been previously used.

  4. what burner are you using and which software please.

There is a thing called a dvd ram driver

    http://ca.search.yahoo.com/search?p=dvd+ram+driver+for+pc&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8&fr=yfp-t-715

RAM discs are different and need extra "drivers", the brand of your dvd burner will offer a file I am sure, I use LG's
    PAL/NTSC problem solver.

That must be one old drive in that PC. Most of the drives made in the past several years that will even read RAM will burn to R or RW media.
