MPEG and Merging Problems

Please can you help me with this annoying problem

I am trying to join two mpg files together, but when i try to do it in TMPGeng, it only reads about 1 min of the second mpg.

i tried to reconvert the file from the .dat, in tmpgenc instead of VCDgear, and it just paused halfway through, whilst still being the size it was before.

The mpg plays fine all the way through in windows media player but it does have a few pauses and blocks. could this be the problem and if so how do i fix it??

I have tried using Mpeg corrector and that hasnt worked. Anyone know any other ways i can fix this problem???
