Firstly, thanks for a great site that has helped me over the years with my little projects
Secondly, I'm a bit behind so take pity on me!

OK, I'm trying to pull together a DVD from video footage and having problems. I'm using DVD shrink to pull the various bits together. My process goes like this,
    1. Video Tape -> DVD via DVD recorder.
    2. Edit clips in DVD shrink and create a mini DVD (in size) from them on my hdd
    3. Then combine mini-dvds into one full DVD by dragging files in DVD shrink and burning to DVD.

Problem is that when played in my Phillips DVD player, some of the clips don't play, and the dvd will freeze
almost randomnly - I suspect the latter problem is when the DVD's are joined and the player finds what it
thinks is a new DVD rather than a continuation. All the files are renamed in sequence and will play OK on my
machine with PowerDVD, but not on the DVD player.

I realise that this is a longwinded way to do this, but its about the limit of my expertise.

Main question is what is the best software to do this with in a more structured way - bearing in mind I'm not a pro and will be looking for the best cheapest fit. I've sounded out ULEAD VS and TMPGENC but am not sure if they fit my needs.

Can I have some guidence from you guys please? MUCH appreciated

I would use tmpgenc dvd author, you can easily import from dvds and cut and join, try the trial and see if you like it.

And please change your topic subject so it better describes your topic, we shouldn't have to click on the subject to read what it's about. Just click on the edit-button on your first post to change it.

Thanks - tried the trial of TMPGENC and it does exactly what I want. I used an early version many years ago so didn't know it had that many features now - spot on. Thanks again
