i have a HP Pavillion DV5216cl lap top with S video abd VGA out puts only. i am just wondering what is the best way to connect my alptop to my Sony Bravia hdtv 1080 p . what cables do i need to purchase. my tv had hdmi port. i tried using s video out but the picture quality is very poor on hd tv. please advise

If your laptop only has VGA and s-video outputs -- VGA is better the better of the two if your TV has a VGA input. Check your manual for supported VGA resolutions. All you need is a VGA cable. Otherwise you'll be stuck with fuzzy low resolution s-video.

Or consider getting WD TV Live or similar media player.
