    went to bed turned of my laptop woke up got to school and tried turning the laptop on but it turns on and only shows the first screen witch says Toshiba nothing else. cant get to the bios menu. checked hard drive put a new one in and that one does not turn on either. its like its frozen or something any suggestions how to fix this? I got a Toshiba satellite L350D-S5930

    i've seen bad ram stop a laptop from booting. take out one stick and try it. then switch with the other if it doesn't work.

    RAM is where I'd start also. That would keep you from the BIOS.

    Otherwise, you may have a bad motherboard or CPU.

    If I remember the machine (desktop), the last one that I had that had a bad CPU could get to the BIOS.

  4. Usually hitting ESC or TAB closes the logo screen and shows the post test results, might be helpful to see what's there.

    Perhaps push the hard reset button - usually accomplished by paper clip thru a hole in the bottom (or remove all power including the battery and wait a while).

  7. First, what did you do? Any additional changes?

    Second, try plugging in an external monitor. Check for a keyboard switch to activate.

    Third, check to see if you have an extended warranty.
