  1. Hi Everyone I'm Izar I come from france, nice to meet you all here.

I recently bought an HTC Hero (what a great piece of "newgen" phone I tell you that), then found ffmpegX soft which is pretty awsome.

My purpose here is to find a simple way to encode XViD.avi to MP4 h264, in order to quickly encode and put videos on my phone for my evreryday train-traveling :

    ------

// I tried the all three different h264 codecs, it endend in one way :

-no audio has been found (with x264 and mencoder codecs),
    -or green screen on my htc (with the ffmpeg codec) ;

(yup I correctly installed the files in macintoshHD/Library/Application Data/ffmpegX)

    >maybe because I didn't found some deinterlace option and the orignal file is XViD ? (I've read that somewhere)

// So then I tried the MP4 only codec, it worked pretty fine but my HTC Hero detects a crazy bitrate like around 13200 kbps, and there is a high crashing and freezing ratio at this rate.

    ----

Here I am after one day of experiment, maybe someone here have any ideas for me to make this right.

Then I could make a nice thread dedicated to Hero users fans of Bram Cohen (no I'm not a nerd guys, it's a joke )

    THX !

Try an MP4 with 1000kbps bitrate in H.264 format. Size: 480x272. AAC audio stereo 128kbps.
"Quality is cool, but don't forget... Content is King!"

  3. Hum...apparently it keeps telling me :

    Code:
    AVI file format detected.
AVI_NI: No audio stream found -> no sound.
EDIT : Finally it seems working, I don't have the error I had before with H264 ffmpeg codec and wich ended in "playable in VLC but green my mobile"

Let you know...I'll try to find wich parameter was wrong MANY THX.

Try the iPhone preset. People have been using iPhone presets successfully on various conversion apps to get .mp4 files for the HTC Hero.
