  1. Anyone know of a utility or method of extracting the chapter times from a bin/cue that has been mastered with chapter entrypoints? Other than just playing it and writing down the times, that is

I sometimes have to extract the MPG from a bin/cue and either remux it or normalize the audio, but I hate to lose the original DVD chapter info if I can help it.

    Thanks.

  2. Definitely!

Use VCDXRIP, a tool included in VCDImager. This proggy will extract all the media files and pbc information into MPEG files and an XML descriptor of the VCD.

Do the relevant editing of the XML file (e.g., adding in new features) or editing of the MPEG files (e.g., switching menu screens) and then you can rebuild all this back into a CUE/BIN image of a VCD with VCDXBUILD.

These are both command line tools but VCD Easy (which you can download from this site) is a GUI for both these proggies (among other things).

    Regards.

  3. Ah, now I see. I had tried this before with VCDEasy and never noticed that you have to actually rip the MPG stream (not just the XML) to get the chapter entrypoints.

Works like a charm. Thanks very much
