DVD Scratches HELP

I just got a new box set of a TV series from china and every disc has scratches on them!

Can they be repaired so I can play the DVDs on a player or even make back up copies? I saw some of those DVD repair kits online…..do they work? I also saw people mentioning taking it to a game store to fix it.

Its odd the disc all look new and the places where they are scratched doesn’t look like it’s from shipping. For instance some of that scratches are like little lines bunched together like a lightning bolt, or they are only on one part of the disc. Some discs I can play while other I can only make it half way or not play at all.
