I have a DVD, copied to HDD with CloneDVD and AnyDVD.
Plays well on PC and WD TV HD media player, including subtitles.
The HDD file converted with VOB2MPG to MPG file.
On PC with VideoLan Player and Cyberlink PowerDVD plays well including subtitles.
On WD TV HD mediaplayer plays well but NO SUBTITLES.
Tried in a lot of manners but always the same result.
    Could anybody help me?

Rip the dvd to an iso and play it on the wdtv hd.

If you just want an mpg you probably need a separate subtitle file.

SRT subtitles work best with the WD players. SUB/IDX has problems sometimes. Also, for the WD, the subtitles file MUST be named exactly the same as the movie for it to work. So if you have a video file named MYMOVIE.AVI, your subtitles must be MYMOVIE.SRT. I have never tested what you are doing so I don't know if the WD players will even look for subtitles files if you are playing MPEG files, but you have to use the same name as the video before the period ( . ) in the name for it to have any chance of success.
