Setting up the blu ray internet connection?

I am just a real newbie as far as configurating internet so I have to ask if there's a site or a FAQ that explains in detail how to set up the blu ray internet connection, I already installed the cable to my router, tried to test it with the automatic settings on the blu ray and it does not detect the connection. Do I need to set up anything I have missed on the computer?

You might have to refer to the user manual to "setup network" manually on the Bluray player


My Bluray did not autoconfig.. once I manually setup the network and it has been
working ever since.
